Pining for the West

Birthday ‘Boy’ | November 2, 2009

Our youngest had his birthday during the week, so we all travelled through to Dundee (of all places), where he now lives.

Youngest son

At Birthday Meal

He chose an Italian restaurant for his birthday meal out. Tuna and olive pizza to be precise (yeuch). Anyway, he enjoyed it.

Family Four

So here we all are after our ‘bit of a do’. It seems to be impossible to get a photograph in which we all look vaguely ‘normal’. Husband looks very serious here for some reason.

G and L

With Girlfriend

And this is the birthday boy with his girlfriend, or should I say partner as they are living together now. I hate that word partner though as people seem to use it to describe someone that they’ve only being going out with for about a week. G and L have been together for about 6 years, and she very quickly became part of the family. G looks like he has a funny eye here for some strange reason.

Anyway a good time was had by all and what with pizza, pasta, puddings and birthday cake, I don’t think I’ll bother weighing myself this week.

  1. Ah how lovely! Looks like you all enjoyed it anyway! quite like pizza with tuna and black olives on myself! Trying to be ‘good’ myself after all the meals out we’ve had lately. Only 8 weeks to Christmas…..clothes to get into

    • Jings, crivvens and helpmeboab – you said the Ch word.
I see you have started tweeting. We had so much rain that lots of roads are flooded and villages cut off. Within 24 hours we had more than the usual rainfall for the whole of November. We were beginning to wish we had built an ark.

  2. Heheh yes only just started the other day….don’t know what to make of it so far. But I keep plugging the blog on there, so something may come of it. A hoorible person was following me, I thought they were eating a hotdog..only it wasn’t! I kept blocking them. Next time, the hotdog will get it (the chop!) lol!

yes the CH word…… EEK! I have been so good today too (whether I can keep it up though…) when the hubby’s off he wants to go enjoy himself. It’s me who pays the expanding waistline price though1 lol!

  3. Lol. I nearly died lol – ing when I read this. I think it was the ‘hoorible’ part of it that really got me and I think it is such an improvement to the word that I may just stick with it. To make matters worse, when I was able to read out your comment to my husband, he thought I said ‘whoreable’, which kind of made sense given the context. Anyway we had a great laugh but what a hoorible experience for you. I don’t know what will happen next time I see someone eating a hotdog. Thankfully – I don’t like them. I still can’t stop lol – ing.

      • Hhehe! It’s lack of daylight, this house is so dark, like living in a bat cave! Hardly locupletative…..
(that’s my adopted word by the way) Have you adopted one yet? (my latest post)
Top: Pick one you can actually pronounce, not like me, lol!

    • I must admit that I’m a bit of a Luddite and as I don’t go out to work I rarely use a mobile phone as I’m never far from the landline. So I can’t imagine myself tweeting. It would be things like I’m cutting the grass – Painting the gates . Washing the dishes AGAIN.

      • I do mine from my Lappy, not done one from mobile phone yet. Jusy trying to promote the blog really. Did you know, you can actually send pics of you DOING those dishes! lol! it’s amazing the pics people send, the more banal the better I think. There only seems to be Stephen Fry doing anything interesting at the moment,
